Dealing with the grand Ashura episode in all its aspects has received many recent developments and has resulted in many differences compared with what used to be done on it in the bygone times. Contemporary marthiyas show themselves in their entirety to exert influences on the audience with the rigor of the matchless task undertaken by Imam al-Husayn. They try to convey the outcome of Imam al-Husayn's sacrifice. The present paper makes a selection of some literary data as produced by Sayyid Abbas Shubbar and Khoshdel Tehrani and approaches them on a lexical and phrasal level. The data reveals and highlights Husayni perseverance, noblility, sublimity, and other positive traits.
