The Holy Quran is the book of education for mankind and directs people to felicity and perfection. Imam al-Husayn has been one of the infallible counterparts of the Holy Quran, as it is well expressed in the al-Thaqalayn (two precious phenomena) hadith of the Prophet Muhammad. The Holy Quran is eloquent in the words of Imam al-Husayn. The present paper seeks to study the high status of Imam al-Husayn in the Quran tafsirs developed by both Shiite and Sunnite authorities. It has shown that many Quranic verses refer to Imam al-Husayn and his high status in Islamic classics.
