Abstract
The late French scholar Henri Corban proposed a six-fold classification of spiritual history: 1. Transference of spiritual knowledge from the Divine prophets and the Infallible Imams; 2. consequences of man's redefinition of the man-God relations; 3. cyclical periodization instead of the linear one; 4. distinction of material vs. spiritual history; 5. hermeneutical approaches for understanding the events occurred, and 6. historical continuation of spiritual realities. Based on the above framework, it is certain that the status of Imam al-Husayn as the hier to the Divine prophets from Adam to the Prophet Muhammad and the Infallible Imams who preceded him signify a great historical continuation in world religions.
