The Holy Quran asserts that it is binding for all Muslims to manifest their noblest sense of cordiality (mawaddah) to the Ahl al-Bayt. Sunni tafsir works also shed light on this point, hence a step toward coming up with proximity with Shi`is. The present paper deals with this point as indicated in Sunni tafsir works in that the Ahl al-Bayt consists of the Prophet Muhammad, Imam `Ali, Fatimah al-Zahra, Imam al-Hasan, and Imam al-Husayn.
