Imam al-Husayn's movement has long been closely followed in both Shii and Sunni communities. Moreover, it has also been a source of inspiration for certain non-Muslim movements. Due to mentioning the event of Ashura in Sunni histories of Islam, it has led them to talk about those who joined forces to commit the horrible crime of slaying Imam al-Husayn. Hence his slayers have received their curses and renunciation. Although some Sunni sources might indicate otherwise, a great majority of them regard the whole event a horrible tragedy beyond doubt
