The females of the Ahl al-Bayt played significant roles in preserving the Ashura movement through their lamentation, elegies, and holding ceremonies. The present paper deals with the issue that who of the Ahl al-Bayt females continued the Ashura movement. To this end, it studies the elegies composed by Umm Salamah, Umm al-Banin, the daughters of `Aqil b. Abi Talib, eg, Asma, Zaynab, Ramalah, Fatimah, and Umm Luqman. Among theirs, Umm Luqman's elegies are the most quoted ones, as she paid careful attention to such elements as space, time, mode of composition, and the physical circumstances involved.
