The mutual affectionate relations between the Infallibles and their peers and close relatives have not received the due attention. The present paper attempts to explore the affectionate relations between Hazrat Zaynab Imam al-Husayn, with particular reference to the event of Ashura. These relations were not absolutely sentimenta, nor were they entirely feminine responses, rather they came up from considering the right docyrinal and political contexts.
