The permanence of Imam al-Husayn's revolt and defamation of the Umayyad hegemony owe a lot to the lady Zaynab's harangues in Damascus. Drawing on the Quranic verses, she disclosed people's breaching their covenants with Imam al-Husayn, she defamed the Umayyads. The present paper clarifies that her harangues manifested that Yazid and his associates were guilty, tyrant, and slayers of the oppressed people, hence deserving defamation in this world and the hellfire punishment in the hereafter. Such a respite given to them was certainly was never to their good and benefit, rather it led to their defamation and the afterlife chastisement.
