Abstract
The Ashura-themed accounts in the book Qamqaam Zakhkhaar va Samsaam Battaar have many things in common with other texts in the same genre, hence its maqtal accounts deserve special attention. As the book was written by Farhad Mirza, a Qajar-era socio-political figure, it was expected of it to exert its own influence, too. Some of its peculiar and eccentric accounts caused certain feedbacks and consequences in the audience. This paper provides both a critical account of the book and an outlook of its author.
