Imam al-Husayn's movement left its profound impact on Persian Sunni poetical works, namely, Hadiqah al-Haqiqah of Sanayi Ghaznavi and Divan Shams of Mowlawi. In both of them, Imam al-Husayn is praised as a sublime personality and Yazid is described as a mean person.
