Author
phd of Islamic Philosophy and lecturer at the Mustafa International University
Abstract
Habib b. Muzahir was an Ashura martyr. Soon after Imam al-Husayn's reaching Karbala, spared no efforts and joined him there, all after the martyrdom of Muslim b. Aqil. He accomplished it in support of Imam al-Husayn through both giving advice to the enemy forces and fighting them. As he was a skilled warrior, Imam al-Husayn appointed him as the commander of the left flank of his companions. His  Ashura war poems indicate his braveness and stance. He was martyred by some soldiers of the Bani Tamim Arab clan. His slayers beheaded him and took his severed head on parade to Ibn Ziyad in Kufah. His martyrdom proved really hard for Imam al-Husayn.
