Abstract
The maqtal section of Murza Muhammad Taqi Sepehr Kashani's Nasikh al-tawarikh is a work of the 13/19th century. It was a pioneer of making distortions of some Ashura accounts. It records some accounts whose ascription to Imam al-Husayn is just below his dignity. Due to some untrue accounts that have crept into the work, the present paper attempts to make a distinction between its reliable and unbelievable accounts.
