Abstract
This paper focuses on the Swedish academic Dr. Torsten Hylen's book "Husayn the Mediator" in which he developed his structual view of the Ashura episode based on Tabari's account, hence he applied a mythological view of his report. It raises criticisms on applying such a framework to Imam al-Husayn's movement. Due to its defects, it is more appropriate to view the Ashura episode as a genuine and ever-alive report and an educative conduct of Imam al-Husayn, rather than and in contrast to a mythological framework
