Abstract
Is'haq b. Haway was a notorious war criminal who committed horrible crimes on Ashura. Soon after Imam al-Husayn's martyrdom, he looted the Imam's garment and, together with other criminals, he trampled the Imam's decapitated body at the instance of Umar b. Sad. His extreme deviation can be traced back to his being an illegitimate son and being raised on illegal food. According to historical records, he put on Imam al-Husayn's garment in effect of which he was soon afflicted with leprosy. He was later on arrested by al-Mukhtar's police forces and sentenced to execution.
