Abstract

In the hasty world of today life, one can hardly dispense with the lives and times of the Infallible dignitaries. In this way, re-reading and re-thinking the life conduct of Imam al-Husayn and his Ashura movement are necessary for coming up with a critical and contemporary appraisal from the viewpoints of social sciences, philosophy of history, and hermeneutics. The corpus texts relied on for analyses include such accounts as al-Luhuf, al-Irshad, and so on. The gist of the findings proves that the Ashura movement was never a merely historical event that took place in the remote past; it was indeed a multi-faceted movement that has since been an ever-flowing source of inspiration, a source of inspiration, social reformation, resistance, and a new definition for justice in the today world, coupled with many moral and ethical lessons.
