The Prophet Muhammad issued several hadiths in favor of Imam al-Husayn and his virtues. One of such hadiths that is inscribed on and over the inner portico of Imam al-Husayn's holy shrine in Karbala reads thus [in translation]: " Al-Husayn is from me and I am from al-Husayn, al-Husayn is a respectable descendant." Library research proves that this piece of hadith qualifies as both authoritative and reliable accirding to both Shiite and Sunnite hadith criteria. The very hadith implies the spiritual unity of Imam al-Husayn and the Prophet Muhammad, expressing one's love toward Imam al-Husayn brings forth being respected by Allah, and the infallibe progeny of the Prophet Muhammad lies in the descendants of Imam al-Husayn.
